Foreign Ministers of Egypt, France and Jordan urged an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in addition to releasing all the “hostages and prisoners”.

They urged full implementation of UNSC’s resolutions no. 2712, 2720 and 2728 and the allowing humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip and immediate release of all hostages.

This came in a joint three-way statement issued at the end of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries in Cairo on Saturday to discuss the Palestinian cause and the situation in Gaza.

The three foreign ministers condemned all violations of the international law and the humanitarian international law and warned from the hideous repercussions of the humanitarian situation, starvation and collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip, asserting their rejection to any attempts of displacement of the Palestinians.

They asserted the importance of Egypt’s efforts which aim at easing the suffering of the Gazans.

They urged implementing temporary measures approved by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on January 25 and March 28 of 2024.

In their joint statement, they urged allowing humanitarian aid supplies as fast as possible to the enclave and called on the Israelis to remove all hindrances and facilitate the use of all ground crossings.

They lauded the efforts of the UN and its agencies including the UNRWA, asserting the importance of respecting and protecting all workers in the humanitarian field and guaranteeing their free movement in Gaza.

They opposed any military attack on Rafah where 1.5 displaced Palestinian are located, adding that any attack on Rafah would lead to fatal loss and could cause more deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip.

They urged maintaining the sacred places in al Quds, expressing their deep concern over the increasing pressures against the Muslim and Christian communities there.

They necessitated implementing the two-state solution on the basis of the relevant UN resolutions.
