Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Saturday discussed with Head of Germany’s Bavarian State Chancellery and State Minister for Federal and Media Affairs Florian Herrmann ways of boosting tare and investment co-operation between Egypt and Bavaria state.
This came on the fringe of Shoukry’s participation in the 60th Munich Security Conference 2024 (MSC), which is hosted by the German city of Munich.
Shoukry was keen on underscoring great importance attached by Egypt to fostering cooperation with Bavaria state, which is deemed a manufacturing and wealth hub in the European Union, and in light of Egypt’s status as one of key trade partners of the state in Africa and the Middle East, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The two sides tackled a set of cooperation proposal, the spokesman said, adding that Shoukry voiced Egypt’s eagerness to promote cooperation with the Bavarian firms in various specialized industries, like automotive industry, communication, technology and artificial intelligence, along with transferring the German know-how in the field of providing support to the startups.
Shoukry expounded cooperation opportunities in the energy domain, which is considered one of Egypt’s promising economic spheres, shedding light on Egypt’s great potential in this domain, in its capacity as regional hub for handling and distributing energy, whether the liquefied gas or green hydrogen.
Meanwhile, Herrmann welcomed the visit of the Egyptian foreign minister to Bavaria, saying that he is looking forward to boosting cooperation with Egypt in various industrial domains alongside exploring further investment opportunities in Egypt.
