Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has on Sunday held a meeting with Justice Minister Omar Marwan to follow up on action to draft new bills on family, including a personal status bill for Christian citizens, which represents the first integrated, unified and detailed law in this domain, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
In light of the justice minister’s presentation during the meeting, President Sisi gave directives for carrying on with work to finalise these draft laws within a framework of full coordination with all the relevant parties and bodies, Spokesman Fahmy said.
The presidential directives also called for arranging such an in-depth societal dialogue that covers various concerns and views that are conducive to achieving the aspired goals of the laws for the good of the Egyptian family and the public interest, Spokesman Fahmy said.
Also during the meeting, President Sisi followed up on the progress of action to implement the strategy for digital integration between the judicial bodies as a prelude to the start of judicial work in the New Administrative Capital’s City of Justice.
