CAIRO – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has rejected a statement issued by the German government on a trial of some defendants before Egyptian courts.
The ministry said in a statement that such a step taken by the German government is an unacceptable, blatant and unjustified interference in Egypt’s internal affairs without any evidence.
The Egyptian judiciary, which is characterized by independence and integrity, should be respected, the ministry reiterated.
The statement added that Egypt’s constitution and the rule of law should be also respected, denouncing any attempts of interference in Egypt’s internal affairs.
