CAIRO – The activities of the 31st session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) started on Monday at the premises of Arab League.
The session is held under the rubric “Arab vision 2045: In road to achieve hope with thinking, management, work”.
The session will tackle the main theme of governance from various aspects, including related challenges in the Arab region; governance of natural resources; economic governance; and conflict prevention.
The ESCWA is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the commission is to promote economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and sub-regional cooperation and integration.
