Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eddin Moustafa met Serbian Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović and his delegation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 3rd Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2023), which opened Monday under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The event will close on December 7.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen co-operation ties between Egypt and Serbia in various fields. They agreed to open new outlets for the products of military production companies in the Serbian markets with a view to promoting Egyptian exports and attracting investments to the local market.
Moustafa reviewed available investment opportunities and the economic reforms of the last few past years.
The minister invited technical delegations from Serbian companies to visit military production subsidiaries to learn about their technological, human and manufacturing capabilities.
For his part, Miloradović said that Serbia is participating in the EDEX with three companies, which manufacture defence products.
He said that his country was keen to increase vistas of co-operation with Egypt in various fields to serve the development goals of the two countries. Miloradović hailed the tremendous progress Egypt has made in the field of military industrialisation.
Moustafa also met Bulatov Muzaffar, Head of the Department of the Defence Industries Agency in Uzbekistan for co-operation talks.
In a related context, Minister Moustafa received head of the Iraqi Military Industrialisation Authority Mustafa Ati Hassan
The minister reviewed the manufacturing, technical, and technological capabilities of the companies affiliated to the military production sector.
The primary role of the ministry, Moustafa said, is to meet the demands of the armed forces for ammunition, weapons, and equipment, in addition to benefiting from the surplus production capacities for manufacturing various civil products.
Moustafa said that his ministry is taking part in the implementation of national and development projects.
Meanwhile, Minister Moustafa also received Robert Khachatryan, Minister of High-Technology Industry of the State of Armenia, within the activities of EDEX 2023.
The two sides stressed the depth of relations binding Egypt and Armenia in all fields and at all levels.
This was clearly evident through the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Armenia in January 2023, and the participation of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian in the COP27 climate summit, held in Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022.
