The second dispatch of emergency medical supplies from Japan to Gaza arrived at El-Arish Airport on Friday.
“I am humbled to stand here in Rafah crossing point with full cooperation of Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) and show strongest sense of solidarity to the people in Gaza, representing my country of Japan together with JICA who is our indispensable working partner,” said Takada Katsunobu, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission.
“The Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip face serious humanitarian crisis since October 7th. International community is paying great attention on that situation. Japan is a major player in it,” he added.
This deliver demonstrates concrete manifest by Japan to alleviate humanitarian crisis, he said.
“My visit has never materialised without sincere cooperation of ERC who has been crucial role to ease catastrophic situation of the Palestinian people in Gaza, serving as the exclusive focal point of humanitarian aid to deliver,” the minister said.
“Japan also wishes to express deepest appreciation to the government of Egypt who has been sparing no time to get the situation calm down and to establish the recent humanitarian pause which have given my delegation a precious opportunity of the window to visit physically here as the first group,” he added.
The first dispatch of humanitarian aid which included the large number of tents and blanket by JICA had arrived on November 8th.
