The Arab League (AL) is pressing for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Haifaa Abu Ghazala, AL Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs, made the call in a meeting of the Arab Council for Population and Development on Monday.
Further effort should be exerted to support the continued flow of urgent medical aid, as well as basic needs of water, food, medicine and fuel, to the Palestinian people in Gaza, Abu Ghazala urged.
She also stressed the need to contribute to a fund to support the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.
