Egypt, Qatar discuss support to Palestinians in Gaza

Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted that Egypt is keen on receiving Palestinian children who suffer from cancer to resume their treatment in the Egyptian hospitals at the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi along with receiving newborns.

Abdel Ghaffar said that this humanitarian action demands resuming efforts to provide medicine for 350,000 patients with chronic diseases inside of the Gaza Strip.

This came during Abdel Ghaffar’s meeting with Qatari Minister of State for International Co-operation Lolwah al Khater in the presence of Qatari Ambassador to Egypt Tarek Ali el Ansari to discuss means to cooperate to support the Palestinian brethren in the enclave especially the wounded to ease their suffering during the hideous incidents they pass through.

During the meeting, Abdel Ghaffar asserted the depth of Egyptian-Qatari ties, lauding the Qatari moves towards the current developments in Gaza.

He also reviewed the Egyptian efforts exerted and the work plan to present medical support to the Palestinians since the start of the crisis in Gaza.

He explained the mechanisms of handling the injured cases that were received in Egypt in the past weeks and the medical services presented to them, adding that most of the cases suffer from series wounds.

Both sides tackled the necessary needs to resume presenting health services to the Palestinians whether inside the hospitals in Palestine or via supporting the efforts exerted to receive and treat the cases in the Egyptian hospitals.
