Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Monday on his “X” account that Shoukry made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing.

The Egyptian top diplomat also said “We look forward to a bigger role by important international parties like China to halt the attacks against Palestinians in Gaza.”

Shoukry also pointed out that there are declared policies for displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, but the strong Arab and Egyptian rejection was “red line” in this regard. He also reiterated that displacement of Palestinians would threaten peace, security and stability in the region and the world.

It is regrettable that flagrant Israeli violations and war crimes are not given their actual names, he added, noting that the UN Security Council is shouldering the responsibility of protecting international legitimacy and China’s stance in this regard is that we expect and know well.

Shoukry also asserted that Egypt was exerting its utmost efforts to allow entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip via Rafah border crossing, but the Israeli policy of blocking the entry of assistance is “organised” and aim at pushing the Palestinians out of the enclave under the pressure of continued shelling and siege.
