Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a meeting Saturday with French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, with Minister of Defense and Military Production Lt. General Mohamed Zaki in attendance.
Presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said the meeting came within the framework of the French minister’s keenness to inform President Sisi of the results of his regional tour during the past days in light of international efforts to calm the situation in the region amid the raging war in Gaza.
According to him, the meeting reflected the interest of the French side on strengthening coordination with Egypt, prompted by the close relations between the two countries and the pivotal role of Egypt, on the political and humanitarian tracks, to spare the blood of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, reach a ceasefire, protect civilians and guarantee the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
