Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reassured Egypt’s categorical rejection of liquidating the Palestinian issue through displacement operations, as well as the necessity of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the entry of humanitarian aid, indicating that the Rafah crossing is open.
During a press conference with Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland and Minister of Foreign Affairs Michael Martin, he said calls that do not pay attention to such facts are politicized, and are not based on a humanitarian dimension.
Meanwhile, Shoukry praised relations between Egypt and Ireland, which are built on friendship.
He also praised the positions taken by Ireland in support of the Palestinian cause and Arab issues.
“Discussions are focused on the situation in the Gaza Strip, as the humanitarian situation there is unbearable and must stop immediately,” the minister said.
“Military operations cannot cause this number of casualties, as it has reached about 12,000, almost half of them are children,” he noted.
Egypt is working to provide all the needs of the civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to the top diplomat.
