Palestinian Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Minister Osama al Saadawi has voiced appreciation of Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for its efforts to achieve calm in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to Gazans.
He hailed as “historic” Egypt role regarding the Palestinian cause.
Speaking in a phone with AlQahera News channel Monday, Saadawi talked about high-level Egyptian-Palestinian coordination to deliver more humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which is living in “exceptional and difficult” conditions amid continued violations by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Palestinian government pays top priority to the Gaza Strip, he noted.
Commenting on a UN decision to fly its flags at half mast in memory of its staff killed in the Gaza war, Saadawi said the international organization, which is the highest executive authority, has failed to reach a decision to enforce a halt of the massacres committed by the army of the Israeli occupation.
But he still welcomed any diplomatic move, even if it is as symbolic as the half-mast flags, insisting that it is not enough in the time being.
The minister called on the world community to act to stop the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza and to counter Israel’s violations of all international norms.
He urged protection for the Palestinian civilians, categorically rejecting attempts to terminate the Palestinian cause.
Hopefully, the strenuous Arab efforts would lead to a settlement to the current crisis in the Gaza Strip, he expressed.
