Makadi Heights, one of Orascom Developments’ integrated towns in Egypt, announced hosting the world’s wildest Freestyle Motocross show; “Masters of Dirt”. Taking place on the 23rd and 24th of December, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, the Red Sea Governorate, together with the Egyptian Automobile Club and organised by JWT Experience, the leading company in organising sports events.
In line with Orascom Development’s strategy supporting art, culture, sports, and entrepreneurship and promoting sports tourism in Egypt, Makadi Heights brings Masters of Dirt for the first time to Egypt and North Africa.
In light of the event, a press conference was held by Makadi Heights on December 7 that exclusively revealed the details of the event. The conference witnessed the participation of Tamer Dewidar, CEO of Makadi Heights, Ms Nicola Fichter, Co-founder and COO of Masters Of Dirt, Mr Ahmed Abdel Khalek, Director of the Sports Tourism Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Engineer Raouf Jaafar, Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club and Head of the Racing and Rally Committee as well a large group of media representatives and journalists.
Engineer Raouf Jaafar, a board member of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club and Head of the Racing and Rallying Committee, said, “The Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club is one of the oldest tourism clubs in the world and this event is one of the touristic events that aim to support and revitalise tourism in our beloved country.”
On his part, Tamer Dewidar, CEO of Makadi Heights, thanked Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, Red Sea Governorate, the Egyptian Automobile Club, for their incessant support and generous sponsorship of the event. He also highlighted that the event will take place during the Christmas holidays to comply with Egypt’s strategy of turning the Red Sea Governorate into a destination for significant regional and global events.
He then carried on stating: “Makadi Heights is a fully integrated town with the necessary infrastructure and preparations to hold world-class events and celebrations. Also thanks to its strategic location, we can safely say that this mesmerizing town is apt to hold various sports, artistic, and cultural events, with the aim of stimulating tourism”
Moreover, Dewidar added: “With a total of 3.4 million square meters, of which 85% allocated to green spaces, specially designed to add a unique edge to the town, this town is the ideal place to partake in uplifting and stimulating the Egyptian tourism sector.”
Another thing to mention, Masters of Dirt was curated to market Makadi Heights, where special offers on the flights and reservations in the town were made available, in the hope of enticing more than 3,000 people, as the targeted audience, from Egypt and other foreign countries into this enchanting town. Not to mention, the event is believed to contribute to the economic development in the Red Sea Governorate by increasing the occupancy of hotels, restaurants, shops, and other activities, which helps achieve economic inclusion, especially since it coincides with the New Year’s holidays.
In addition to that, Nicola Fechter mentioned: “Needless to say, I am very excited and happy to visit Egypt for the first time, and that it will be our starting point in North Africa. Also, my entire team and I really hope that we will be able to show the audience a fascinating performance that would commensurate with the magnitude of Orascom Development.”
She concluded: “Masters of Dirt features very interesting performances, namely freestyle Motocross, Mountain bike, and much more. We also take pride in the fact that our show ranks as number 16 on the list of the world’s best shows in the entertainment field. It was also held in more than 20 countries with a total of 250 shows and 1.1 million direct views, in the presence of about 45,000 people.”
It is noteworthy that Makadi Heights has witnessed great milestones during the last period, as it launched the master plan of the town up to the highest international standards, hence the creation of a sustainable environment. This town has also hosted various sports and youth events, such as the Makadi Heights Rally in 2019 and the Makadi Heights Football Cup in 2021. Last but not least, it is currently planning to host the first international music festival in May 2022.
