Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice-President of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) Nevine el-Qabbag attended on Wednesday the signing of a co-operation protocol between the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Bahrain’s Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF).
Bahraini Ambassador in Cairo Fawzia bint Abdulla and Mustafa Al-Sayed, Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation were present alongside representatives from International Committee of the Red Cross.
Signing the protocol were Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent Dr Rami el-Nazer from the Egyptian side and Dr Mustafa Al-Sayed, Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation on the Bahraini side.
The protocol is aimed to give due support to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip on the background of the humanitarian ordeal they are going through.
The Bahraini Royal Humanitarian Foundation offers financial support estimated at LE50 million for relief and medical materials for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent will assist in purchasing and supplying the required relief and aid to bring them into the Gaza Strip.
The aid includes urgent food and medical supplies for the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, as well as relief materials such as tents, blankets, clothes and heaters.
