Japan Ambassador Oka Hiroshi inaugurated on Wednesday a project in Manial, a district of Cairo, as part of his country’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (Kusanone).
The project provides a safe and secure educational environment for children with disabilities in the district, implemented by Al-Malak Al-Kebly Charity Association in the grant amount of approximately US$99,000, a statement by the Embassy said.
“It contributes to a better educational environment by renovating the facility of an Intellectual Education Primary School, expanding the number of students it can accept in a safer environment, and enabling it to offer a curriculum that meets national standards for primary intellectual education programs, including music and art education,” the statement added.
This project came within the framework of Kusanone, which provides direct and small-scale financial support to non-profit organisations.
Since 1994, Japan has extended about $10 million, supporting 176 projects throughout Egypt in a wide range of sectors including education, health, water and sanitation, vocational training, women empowerment and special needs support.
The Embassy welcomes applications from NGOs for new projects. For more details, please check the following Embassy website:
