The total value of Egyptian exports reached 51.6 billion dollars in 2022, said Executive Manager of Policies Monitoring and Evaluation Department at the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) Manal Talaat.
The volume of non-petroleum exports hit about 35.3 billion dollars, she added at a workshop, which was held by IDSC in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) on Monday.
The petroleum exports got the lion’s share in the country’s exports and were followed by agricultural exports, she pointed out.
The services sector contributed with 38% of total exports, hitting 26.9 billion dollars, topped by travel and transport services, Talaat added.
The workshop is themed “boosting revenues of Egyptian exports” and convenes as part of the initiative “we think for our country: 50 ideas to promote competition of the Egyptian economy.
The initiative was launched by the Center’s Public Policies Forum and includes a research competition for innovative and creative economic ideas.
The competition provided an important opportunity for junior researchers to present their ideas about mechanisms for enhancing Egyptian exports in the various domains.
