Egypt’s Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir met with Bulgarian Ambassador in Cairo Deyan Angelov Katratchev Sunday to discuss boosting economic and trade cooperation in the coming stage.
Samir said Bulgarian investors should benefit from business advantages in Egypt, which include qualified labor and preferential agreements co-signed by Cairo with other governments and economic blocs, thus allowing products made in Egypt to easily tap foreign markets.
Samir said his Ministry made a list of 152 investment opportunities in Egypt that Bulgarian businessmen could find worth grasping. Egypt, he added is seeking to settle industries and could benefit from Bulgaria’s long experience in this regard. The minister also talked about jointly manufactured products as yet another cooperation chance between the two countries.
The Bulgarian minister of commerce is set to visit Egypt in December for further talks about trade and investment cooperation between the two sides.
Katratchev, for his part, said Sofia is keen on upgrading economic relations with Cairo, which he called a pivotal area in the Middle East and North Africa region.
