Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss the military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The two sides agreed on the need to boost regional and international efforts to prevent an expansion of the escalation and a further complicated security and humanitarian situation.
Sisi posted Meloni on the outcome of Egypt’s contacts at the regional and international levels to push forward truce efforts and secure safe and urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gazans.
The president reiterated Egypt’s rejection of the policies of collective punishment, siege and displacement, stressing the importance of reviving the peace process.
