CAIRO – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit reiterated Monday the importance of international and regional judicial co-operation mechanisms in facing up to serious security threats.
Addressing the opening session of the 37th session of the Arab Justice Ministers, the AL secretary general said all devised mechanismis should be incoportated to enhance overall active strategies to face up to terror on the Arab and international levels.
Abul Gheit said success in fighting terror will always remain interwined with an overarching strategy that takes legal, technological and financial aspects into consideration, in addition to security files.
He further referred to high potentials forged by Arab agreements on fighting terror, along with Arab anti-money laundering, as well as agreements on combating terrorist financing and cybercrimes.
The pan-Arab body chief underscoreed the importance of co-operation between the Arab Justice Ministers Council and the Arab Interior Ministers Council as “decisive” to battling the terror phenonmenon and organized crime.
