President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness To strengthen co-operation with Madagascar in various fields, especially trade exchange, technical support and capacity building.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting yesterday with Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina on the sidelines of the COMESA Summit in the New Administrative Capital, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, President Sisi praised Madagascar’s president for his chairmanship of COMESA during the last period. He also lauded the close relations between Egypt and Madagascar.
For his part, the President of Madagascar expressed his deep appreciation for the Egyptian government and people, praising the distinguished friendship and brotherly ties that unite the two countries.
He also asserted his keenness to strengthen these relations at all levels, especially within the framework of various developmental and technical fields.
The two sides also discussed the most important issues on the agenda of the COMESA, especially with regard to enhancing the existing efforts to achieve economic and regional integration.
They also reviewed bilateral co-operation, especially in the areas of security, economy and development. Moreover, the two sides discussed a number of continental files of common interest.
They agreed to continue consultation and coordination in a way that would contribute to meeting the aspirations of the peoples of the continent towards achieving development and prosperity.
