CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said Monday the government-adopted economic reform programme is steadily heading towards its goals to pave the way for national industrial growth.
In a speech she read on behalf of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli during the proceedings of the eighth session of the economic forum organised by Akhbar El Youm newspaper, the minister said the government’s success in implementing the programme would make Egypt an important destination for local and international investments.
The minister pointed out that the state launched “Egypt 2030 strategy” which focuses on five main axes including encouraging small and medium enterprises to achieve growth and create more job opportunities.
She added that her ministry enacted new laws to simplify investment measures including expediting the issuance of licenses for industrial projects.
Minister Gamea said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi approved a law of developing the small and medium enterprises and its statute which included unprecedented incentives for carrying out industrial projects.
The forum was attended by the ministers of electricity, petroleum, tourism, youths and sports as well as Abdel Sadek Al Shorbagy, the head of the National Press Authority, Ahmed Galal, the board chairman of Akhbar El Youm and a galaxy of businessmen and industrialists.
