CAIRO – Egyptian Housing Minister Assem el-Gazzar met on Wednesday with Executive Director of World Bank Group Merza Hasan and Alternate Executive Director at the World Bank Group Ragui el-Etreby to present the Egyptian urban experiment and the major urban improvements in Egypt in the different domains under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Gazzar reviewed the projects implemented by the Egyptian state in the field of construction of 4th generation cities which are smart and sustainable cities and offer quality life for the Egyptian citizens topped by the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein city along with other cities implemented in Egypt.
These projects aim at achieving the first goal of the national strategic plan of Egypt 2052 which is doubling the construction area in Egypt, he said.
Gazzar tackled the efforts of the Egyptian state to apply the directives of President Sisi to provide suitable housing for each citizen as the Housing Ministry is working on providing housing units via a three-axis strategy based on supporting youth and low-income people, supporting middle-income families and giving an opportunity to high-income citizens.
He also shed light on the big national project adopted by the state to develop the unsafe zones to provide decent life for the residents of these areas.
For his part, Hasan lauded the urban improvements witnessed in Egypt which are implemented in a record time.
