CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed al-Manfi reviewed Tuesday the efforts afoot to restore security and stability in Libya.
During a phone call with the Libyan official this evening, Sisi reaffirmed that Egypt is totally in favor of removing all foreign militants and mercenaries from Libya and ending all forms of foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Arab north African country.
He also stressed Egypt’s commitment to enhancing close coordination with the Libyan side to unify state institutions and hold the long-awaited presidential elections in Libya on December 24 as scheduled.
Sisi further reiterated Egypt’s full support of a political settlement to the Libyan crisis at bilateral, regional, and international forums, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Meanwhile, Manfi expressed his sincere gratitude for Egypt’s strenuous efforts in support of Libya since the onset of its crisis.
