The premier reviewed national projects jointly implemented with the WB, including the Local Development Programme in Upper Egypt, and the WBG’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF), which will serve as a roadmap for future co-operation.
The CPF aims to make our country-driven model more systematic, evidence-based, selective, and focused on the bank’s twin goals of ending extreme poverty and increasing shared prosperity in a sustainable manner.
Madbouli also discussed the high-speed electric railway, bus rapid transit (BRT), and the monorail, which are regarded as top priority green and smart transport solutions.

Egypt seeks to keep pace with the international progress in meeting the challenges of climate change, the premier added, pointing out that Egypt is preparing to host the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) in 2022.

For his part, the WBG chairman lauded measures adopted by Egypt to confront the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as economic and structural reforms to date, which have increased WB confidence in the Egyptian economy.
While the WB is looking forward to expanding the horizons of co-operation with Egypt, working together to achieve prosperity and welfare for society is of paramount importance as are modern educational and training systems to prepare a the workforce compatible with the requirements of local and international labour markets, the WBG chairman said.
