President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined the necessity of protecting agricultural lands and stopping violations and unplanned building on them.
Sisi called for capitalizing on desert lands, which represent up to 90% of the total area of Egypt.
The president urged citizens to change the culture of building on their farmlands.
The projects are carried out at a high cost with the objective of making a clear-cut change in life of citizens, he said.
President Sisi called on all whether the State, citizens or media people or thinkers and intellectuals to focus on these giant projects that are being implemented nationwide, including the establishment of one million housing units project.
All these projects are fulfilled by Egyptian hands and funds, according to President Sisi.
Sisi confirmed new housing projects are built in desert areas to avoid building on farmlands. “This is our country and we want to change it,” President Sisi said.
