President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting Saturday with a host of government officials and foreign company heads.

Discussions in the meeting focused on ongoing preparations for pumping water to irrigation stations from the Bahr el-Baqar drainage canal so that it can be used in the cultivation of farmland in north and central Sinai in co-operation with international companies with expertise in this field.

President Sisi highlighted vast opportunities available for foreign companies in Egypt.

National megaprojects, the president said, open up huge and diverse opportunities for investment and work in various fields, including land reclamation and the transfer of water from sewage and treatment plants among others.

The president underlined the importance of technology transfer to Egypt and industrial localisation.

He said these two areas were basic pillars in relations between the government and the foreign companies working in the different fields in Egypt.

The president also held a meeting with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed and Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Ehab el-Far.
