Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) Abdel Monem el-Terras on Monday met a Nigerian delegation for industrial cooperation talks.
El-Tarras stressed the importance of forging ties with the African countries in accordance with directives by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi to open up fresh prospects of cooperation and integration in all industrial and economic fields.
Talks focused on consolidating bilateral cooperation and how to benefit from AOI potentials to meet the needs of development and industrial projects in Nigeria, mainly in defence and security.
The officials also discussed a proposal for a joint technical committee to identify available resources and areas of bilateral cooperation in manufacturing in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digitisation and artificial intelligence (AI).
For their part, the delegation voiced their keenness on stronger bilateral ties in industrial and development.
Cooperation with the AOI would be part of part of efforts to support local manufacturing, and transferring and localising technology.
