Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit warned of the Houthi escalation in Ma’rib city, blaming the Houthis for turning thousands homeless and hundreds of civilians in danger, (MENA) reported.
In press statement on Wednesday, Abul Gheit asserted that the Houthis benefited from specific changes in the international arena, adding that they want to achieve political gains via military escalation policy that targets populated areas.
The political solution includes immediate cease of military operations, he said, urging the Houthis to abide by full ceasefire.
An official source at the AL’s general secretariat quoted Abul Gheit’s confirmation that the coalition forces showed commitment and responsibility towards decreasing the escalations in Yemen.
