Egyptian Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki attended Sunday a ceremony honoring a number of leaders who spent their service in the armed forces and were referred to retirement on July 1, 2021.

Present at the ceremony were Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid, leaders of the main branches and a number of senior commanders of the armed forces and their families.

The defense minister awarded the honored leaders the Order of the Republic of the second class, which President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ratified in appreciation of their efforts and dedication in performing their national tasks throughout their service in the Armed Forces.

The honored leaders expressed thanks and gratitude to the armed forces for the care and attention they and their families are surrounded with.

Minister Zaki, meanwhile, stressed that army personnel will remain worthy of the trust that the people have put into them, thanking the families of the honored leaders for their great social responsibility in preparing generations of Egyptians capable of work and giving.
