Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has given directives to the Martyrs Honouring Fund to keep upgrading its programmes, promoting its financial governance mechanisms and develop is resources for the benefit of the families of martyrs and the injured.
The directives to this effect were given during a meeting that President Sisi called on Monday to review the Martyrs Honouring Fund’s activities and programmes during the previous stage, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said. Also reviewed in the meeting were services that the Fund offers to its beneficiaries, Spokesman Radi added.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Major-General Mohamed Amin, the Fund Board of Directors chairman Major-General El-Sayed el-Ghaly and the fund’s Executive Director Major-General Ahmed al-Ashal.
In the course of discussions during the meeting, President Sisi stressed the importance of the Fund’s commitment to quickly disburse all compensations for beneficiary families and individuals, spokesman Radi said.
The President also called for sustained action to develop the Fund’s programmes, its financial governance mechanisms and its resources for the benefit of the families of the martyrs and the injured.
During the meeting, the President directed that the Martyrs Honoring Fund pay the material compensation due to the beneficiaries in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 16 of 2018, in one payment during the month of September 2021.
The meeting also included a review of the activities and functioning of the Martyrs Honoring Fund during the last period, the benefits and services it provides for beneficiaries and the Fund’s coordination with Cabinet ministries and government agencies regarding developing various activities and initiatives in the interest of beneficiaries.
