The Egyptian Military Production Ministry and UAE’s M Glory Holding company signed on Monday a contract to set up an Egyptian-UAE company to manufacture a bi-fuel pick-up vehicle.
Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi and Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea attended the signing ceremony of the contract.
As per the agreement, a 22,000-square-meter-sized factory will be set up to manufacture the vehicle that will run on both natural gas and other fuels, Morsi said at a press conference following the signing of the contract.
Production of the new vehicle will start in the first half of 2022 with a capacity of 12,000 cars annually to secure the needs of both local and African markets.
The new car is supplied with two gas cylinders of 170-litre capacity each and a 35-litre fuel tank.
The car is fitted with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), a safety anti-skid braking system and Mitsubishi’s 5-speed transmission engine
