Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli attended Thursday the signing of a co-operation protocol to set up Egypt Creativity Digital Training Centre (Creativa) in Kafr el-Sheikh.
The protocol was signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Egyptian Awqaf Authority and Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate.
The inking ceremony was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Kafr el-Sheikh Governor Gamal Noureddin.
Talaat said in remarks following the signing of the protocol that it aims at establishing the centre with the objective of honing skills of youth in the governorate and preparing cadres that contribute to developing CIT industry.
The protocol is part of the presidential initiative for training communities and technological innovation as well as the state’s strategy for promoting the principles of training, creation and entrepreneurship nationwide.
Gomaa, in turn, said his ministry is very interested in renovating archaeological and historic buildings in the governorate through the authority to preserve the Islamic heritage of the Egyptian state and upgrade the Egyptian society to benefit from the advanced technological sciences.
He added that King Fouad Palace, which was registered in a list of Islamic and Coptic antiquities, was turned into Egypt’s Creativa.
In addition, Prime Minister Madbouli witnessed the inking ceremony of a joint co-operation protocol between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Finance, Agriculture Ministry, the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) to implement a national initiative to upgrade the irrigation system.
The protocol was inked by Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati, Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet, Agriculture Minister el-Sayyed el-Qasir, Chairman of NBE Hisham Okasha and Deputy Chairman of the ABE Mohamed Ehab.
Madbouli said that this protocol comes in light of the state’s keenness to realise the optimal use of the water resources and ensure the highest agricultural production in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
This would be achieved via providing all needed means and mechanisms to turn the traditional irrigation systems into modern ones.
The protocol aims at achieving joint co-operation between all the bodies concerned to implement an ambitious plan that works on achieving sustainable development of the agricultural projects via providing technical and financial support needed for upgrading the irrigation system to perfectly use the water resources.
The premier also attended the signing of a protocol of co-operation between the Ministry of Military Production and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on carrying out Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programmes in factories and companies of the National Organisation for Military Production.
The inking ceremony was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsy.
The protocol is part of the national project for modernisation, development and digital transformation that is sponsored by the political leadership.
Meanwhile, the premier has directed ministries and bodies concerned with tourism to study a strategy to promote yacht tourism and expected that to be finalised before the end of this month.
Chairing a Cabinet meeting, Madbouli said the government should start implementing this strategy once the study is over.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has urged action to promote yacht tourism in Egypt, he told the ministers.
Tourism Minister Khaled el-Anani said that Egypt has 2,400 kilometres of coasts and beaches, as well as tourist resorts. He talked about an “economic importance” of yacht tourism, which brings in big revenues through transit and docking fees, taxes, fuel and maintenance.
Anani said the average spending of yacht tourists could be 94% higher than other travellers. He put the value of yacht tourism in the Mediterranean region at about 300 billion dollars annually.
Yacht tourism also helps create direct and indirect jobs for youth working in the travel and service sectors.
