CAIRO – Secretary General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FECC) Alaa Ezz said that many food commodity companies have started to reduce prices by 8-10 percent in response to the government’s initiative to lower the prices of basic commodities.
In statements to MENA on Friday, Ezz said that the initiative includes reducing the prices of beans, lentils, sugar, oil, dairy milk, pasta and white cheese.
The prices of these goods will be reduced from 15 to 25 percent, depending on the type of commodity and the foreign component, he further noted.
