The Egyptian Health Ministry organised a training course on eradicating tuberculosis, COVID-19 and other respiratory infections in African countries.
The course was held at the headquarters of the national center for training and research on tuberculosis and chest diseases.
This falls within cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), and the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the training course groups 20 trainees from 11 African countries; Botswana, Zambia, Ghana, Liberia, Cameroon, Congo, Namibia, Mozambique, Chad, Malawi and Kenya).
The head of the central administration for therapeutic medicine, Mohamed Nadi, lauded the existing cooperation between the Health Ministry and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency.
The cooperation aims to develop the participants’ skills and gain experience in detecting and determining the necessary treatment for cases of infectious diseases, Nadi added.
