Egypt’s Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet on Wednesday inspected the venue where a meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) board is set to be held later this month.
Maeet also followed up on preparations ahead of the 8th annual meetings of the AIIB, which is set to be held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on September 25-26, a statement by the Finance Ministry said.
The minister also held talks with South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda, who assured him that Sharm el-Sheikh is ready to host the AIIB meetings.
Maeet also met with the chairman of the Cairo airport Customs Authority, El-Shahhat Ghatoury, to review easier procedures for foreign participants arriving in Egypt for the international event.
