Egypt’s Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar received Wednesday Heinrich Neubauer, director of the Institute of Bacterial Infections and Zoonoses at Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut in Germany.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Development (PHDC 2023), which kicked off Tuesday morning in the New Administrative Capital under the aegis of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting dealt with joint co-operation between the Ministry of Health and Population and the German institute in the fields of combating pandemics and contagious diseases.
Spokesman Abdel Ghaffar quoted the minister as saying that Egypt possesses highly developed system able to early detect viruses and contagious diseases.
