During the meeting, the president called for building the necessary human and material capabilities, in co-operation with major international companies in this sector, in a manner that befits the modern requirements of the labour market and integrates with the state’s strategy to prepare distinguished generations of Egyptian youth capable of global competition and keeping pace with the rapid developments in this vital sector, Spokesman Fahmy said.

The president was also briefed on the developments of the unified government network project to link the components of the state’s administrative apparatus and enhance the capacity for support handling government data in such a safe, fast and advanced manner that qualifies the administrative apparatus for elevating all government services to citizens, Spokesman Fahmy said.

The spokesman added that the briefings and presentations made during the meeting covered the efforts to improve mobile phone services as well as developing the Internet infrastructure to accommodate heavy usage and growth requirements during the current and upcoming phases.

In another meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Madbouli and CIT Minister Talaat, the president followed up on the pace of implementing a number of projects in the CIT sector, especially with regard to the progress of action to implement the Digital Egypt initiative, which aims to support government performance by providing the latest digital services for citizens nationwide, Spokesman Fahmy said.
