Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has underscored the importance of implementing an action plan aimed at developing river transport nationwide.
The development plan comes in implementation of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to reduce the cost, decrease fuel consumption and take into consideration the environmental dimension, added the premier at a meeting in the government headquarters in New Alamein City, in the presence of Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir.
The State seeks to build more developed river units as per global specifications and criteria, in accordance with the current infrastructure in order to ease the transport of goods with the objective of reducing transportation costs and decreasing pollution.
