Egypt’s Agriculture Minister El Sayed el Qusair, in his capacity as head of the general assembly of Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), discussed on Sunday with Executive Director of the organization Nasr el Din Al Obaid ways of developing bilateral relations.
The talks tackled the projects carried out by ACSAD in Egypt in cooperation with the centers of desert researches and agricultural researches to achieve food security and mitigate the negative effects of climate change.
The two sides also tackled efforts to improve conditions of rural residents of Matrouh governorate as well as enhancing partnership with the FAO and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in the agricultural domain.
ACSAD was established in Damascus in 1968 as a specialized Arab organization working within the framework of the League of Arab States with the objective of unifying the Arab efforts which aim to develop the scientific agricultural research in the arid and semi-arid areas, help in the exchange of information and experiences and make use of the scientific progress and the modern agricultural techniques in order to increase the agricultural production.
