SAINT PETERSBURG- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated in a meeting in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg with Russian President Vladimir Putin and African countries leaders taking part in the African mediation initiative to settle the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said that the leaders reviewed during the meeting the latest developments of the African initiative for mediation between Russia and Ukraine.
Given the African continent seeks to end the dispute as it is taking its toll on several vital sectors including food security, energy and international finance, added Fahmi.
It was agreed on maintaining work to push forward the African initiative through crystalizing necessary mechanisms to encourage the Russian and Ukrainian sides to positively engage in it in the period to come, according to the spokesman.
