CAIRO – Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ihab Nasr conferred with Hungarian Minister of State for Security Policy at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Sztaray, who is currently visiting here.

During the meeting, the two sides addressed means of deepening strategic partnership between the two countries in the coming phase to comply with the size of regional and international challenges.

They also reviewed the latest developments pertaining to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), terrorism combat as well as illegal immigration.

The talks also covered the latest developments in the Middle East region especially the situation in Sundan, Libya and the Middle East peace process.

They also exchanged views on issues pertaining to the European continent and the repercussions of current world crises on international peace and security.

The Egyptian diplomat, for his part, underlined the importance of boosting current ties with the Hungarian side particularly at the political and economic levels.

The Hungarian minister, for his part, voiced pride over his country’s historic ties with Egypt as well as the high-level coordination between the two political leaderships.

He also pointed out to his country’s permanent keenness on getting briefed on the Egyptian stance regarding regional and international developments, voicing his appreciation for Cairo’s efforts to maintain peace and security in the Middle East region.
