Four Palestinians were killed and 27 injured, including seven critically, in a major ongoing Israeli army air and land assault on the northern West Bank city of Jenin, WAFA reported on Monday.
The Ministry of Health and Jenin hospitals said in their latest update on the Palestinian casualties of the Israeli assault that three Palestinians were killed in the airstrikes that proceeded the entry of dozens of army vehicles into the Palestinian city. In addition, it said 27 people were injured, including seven critically.
The fourth died of injuries sustained earlier, said the Ministry.
The Israeli army started after midnight a major assault on Jenin, starting with airstrikes before the military vehicles raided the city, concentrating on its refugee camp.
The Israeli bulldozers destroyed several streets in the camp to prevent the movement of cars and ambulances, said local sources.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Monday what it described as “the barbaric aggression” of the Israeli occupation army against the northern West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp that so far left four Palestinians dead and more than 30 injured, many of them critically, calling for an urgent international intervention to stop the Israeli aggression, WAFA News Agency reported.
The Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that this aggression is part of the official Israeli policy of using military force in dealing with the defenseless Palestinian people as an alternative to political solutions to the conflict, holding the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for its repercussions.
It called for urgent international action to immediately stop the aggression, urging the International Criminal Court to break its silence and start holding the Israeli war criminals accountable.
