Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi told The Egyptian Gazette that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi supports all athletes to achieve greatness.
The minister called for preparations from now for the World Cup competitions.
“Egyptian football has become a matter of national interest and a part of the state’s development strategy,” the minister said.
The state is to invest in sports infrastructure of the sports and media coverage is vital for sports events, the minister added.
German football coach Guido Hoffmann told paper that investing in sports is an investment in a necessary sector of infrastructure.
“The events that took place during past this year may attract more investment from,” Guido added.
Egyptian Football Association president Gamal Allam told The Egyptian Gazette that the Egyptian Football System Support Initiative aims to provide unique opportunity for financial resources to develop skills.
Allam went on to say Egyptian football will have the necessary financial resources to support youth teams, prepare players for the Olympics and FIFA World Cup tournaments.
