JEDDAH – The 32nd Arab summit will kick off on Friday in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah city amid extraordinary circumstances in which the Arab nation is trying to maintain its stability and security and enhance Arab interests in light of consecutive crises ripping the world.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s participation in the summit comes as part of Egypt’s constant keenness on boosting ties with Arab countries.

Arab leaders are hopeful that the Jeddah summit would create mechanisms to address regional and international challenges and boost inter-Arab relations.

Speaking to MENA, Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki said the summit will come up with a host of recommendations and resolutions on several political issues, including the Palestinian issue, crisis in Sudan, Ethiopia dam and developments in Syria and Yemen.

He hoped the resolutions of the Arab summit would contribute to settling existing conflicts.

He said Syrian President Bashar Assad will take part in the summit and Sudan will be represented by the presidential envoy of Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman al Burhan.

The Syrian participation in the Arab League meetings comes after an absence of 11 years.
