An Employment Forum for the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s programme ‘An Opportunity for Economic Empowerment’ was launched on Wednesday in Assiout.
The forum was organised in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Ministry of Manpower under the auspices of Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag and Minister of Manpower Hassan Shehata.
Governor of Assiout Essam Saad and Eric Ochlan, Director of ILO Office in Egypt and Eritrea, were present at the event.
The forum, held at Al-Firdous Park in Assiout, found 6,000 jobs for young people in 40 companies across the country in industry, farming, real estate and tourism.
The forum also offered a number of services to beneficiaries from the Anti-Addiction Fund, Takaful wa Karama and the Integrated Services Card.
The minister said that the aim of the forum was to boost social network programmes and improve economic conditions for limited income people.
El-Qabbag said her ministry has drawn up a strategy to expand social protection programmes to cover large segments of people across the country.
Private sector companies nationwide announced their vacancies and received job seekers’ applications during the forum.
Meanwhile, the Forsa Programme is one of the mechanisms of the Ministry of Social Solidarity for economic empowerment to support women, youth and low-income families in their efforts to enter the labour market and achieve economic independence through a system of encouragement, motivation and support in training, obtaining a job, and establishing successful businesses.
